It is not uncommon after a driving evaluation or home safety evaluation to find modifications may need to be made to the vehicle or the home in order to maintain your safety and independence. Many of these modifications are frequently not covered by the insurance. The following organizations may be potential resources to assist you with completing necessary changes to your home or vehicles.
North Dakota
National Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS) – Upper Midwest
The Upper Midwest Chapter works to improve the quality of life for people affected by MS and their families and raise funds for critical MS research.

North Dakota Association for the Disabled
North Dakota Association for the Disabled may provide funding for those with physical disabilities.
North Dakota Interagency Program for Assistive Technology
The Interagency Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) is a non-profit organization that strives to bring assistive technology into the lives of all North Dakotans in need. This is achieved through training, public awareness, demonstration, and one-on-one consultation.
North Dakota Veterans Affairs
The mission of the North Dakota Veterans Affairs is to assist veterans of North Dakota and their dependents in obtaining all benefits to which they are entitled both federal and state. The North Dakota Veterans Affairs site acts as a comprehensive resource directory to assist veterans, service members, and their dependents with questions about healthcare, employment, financial assistance, and more.
Minnesota
Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA)
The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) is a cabinet-level state agency dedicated to serving veterans and their families by assisting them in securing state and federal benefits and by providing programs and services relating to higher education, benefits, burial, claims, outreach, and veterans’ preference.
Minnesota STAR Program
The alternative finance program is managed by Equipalife. Equipalife provides low-interest rate loans to consumers, their families and employers for the purchase of assistive technology devices and services.
